Pretende-se pensar as noções de fronteiras transnacionais, transmidiáticas e de gênero no cinema contemporâneo brasileiro, presentes nos filmes homônimos, Os Matadores (1997) de Beto Brant e Cabeça a prêmio (2010) de Marco Rica, realizados, respectivamente, a partir de um conto (1994) e um romance (2003) de Marçal Aquino.
